The Clapham Park Project (CPP) was delighted to provide its offices for the launch of the Home Office and National Police Improvement Agency’s (NPIA) new CrimeMapper initiative, an interactive map of crime statistics across England and Wales.

The website was developed by the National Policing Improvement Agency (NPIA) and police forces across England and Wales, on behalf of the Home Office.

In 2009, the CPP was selected by a national committee to be one of 11 Exemplar Sites (excellent examples of neighbourhood team working) across the UK.  The CPP was described as: ‘a model of good practice for neighbourhood management and problem-solving policing.’

Minister of State for Crime and Policing, David Hanson, and NPIA Deputy Chief Executive Steve Mortimore, presented CrimeMapper at the launch at the CPP offices.

Following a question-and-answer session, the CPP’s Senior Neighbourhood Warden, Melinda Francis, took the Minister and DCC on a tour of the Clapham Park area, accompanied by the CPP’s Chief Executive, Angus Johnson (see image below).

As an Exemplar Site, the CPP is committed to continuing renewal and regeneration in the Clapham Park area, and the CPP has shared its knowledge and expertise with other teams. Visitors to the CPP have included representatives from Peterborough Police and the British Transport Police.
