census_logo_webMarch 27th 2011 is national Census day and Jacqui McKenzie, a community adviser for the Census team, is reminding Lambeth's residents of the importance of taking part.  "Apart from being a legal requirement, an accurate count of the population of Lambeth could lead to the delivery of real benefits for the community" she says.  People from African and Caribbean backgrounds, the elderly and young single professionals are all said to have been under represented in the last Census Count.  "It is important that everyone is counted and the fact that you can now submit your applications on line makes the process accessible for busy people on the move.  An immediate benefit of the Census is the 29,000 jobs available.  To find out more about these go to www.censusjobs.co.uk.

Ms McKenzie has been speaking about the census at community events around the borough.  To get in touch with her ring 07801331656.
