Over 1000 residents joined in the fantastic festival fun at this year’s Clapham Park Festival.  The celebrations kicked of on Saturday 12th July, 12.00pm at Agnes Riley Gardens, Poynders Road, with DJs from Clapham Park’s community radio station, Generation Radio (www.generationradio.co.uk).

CPP Provides Work Experience for Local People

Liberian Taibu Jalloh came to London in 2002 and is studying for a degree in Business Management at the University of Roehampton.

Taibu is currently undertaking work experience with the Marketing and Communications Team at Clapahm Park Project after contacting Shop for Jobs.

Taibu hopes that after his graduation in 2009 he will get a job in the banking sector but he would eventually like to start his own business so he can help his community and said:  “After the first meeting at Clapham Park Project, I thought this is the type of organisation which would educate me on how to serve the community. I started seeing Telca at Shop for Jobs. She showed me how to write a good CV and also found me the placement at Clapham Park Project.”

Taibu also said: “I am very happy to be given the opportunity to work alongside these friendly people.  I have learnt new things and hope to learn more.”
