Crime & Safety
- Compared to 2004, residents feel just as safe walking around the area after dark in 2006 (remained 56%). This is 4% above the NDC average (52%).
- Less residents feel that crime is a serious problem in the area in 2006 (21%) compared to in 2004 (29%).
- Compared to 2004, significantly fewer residents are fairly or very worried about being insulted or pestered by anybody while in the street/public place in 2006 (from 39% to 34%). CPP’s figure is now just below the NDC average (35%).
- Compared to 2004, significantly fewer residents are very or fairly worried about being physically attached because of their race or religion in 2006 (from 27% to 19%).
- Compared to 2004, less residents feel that drug dealing is a serious problem in 2006 (from 36% to 26%).
